Twenty people from Pyli and the surrounding villages (TRIKALA-GREECE), young men and women but also some older people, volunteer mountain rescuers and mountain guides, in the context of the civil protection agency of the local Municipality decided to cooperate with a voluntary group from San Martino Siccomario in Northern Italy in a mobility plan of people active in the youth field, within the framework of the ERASMUS+ programme KA1 Action. The target group of the project are the new residents of our region and also the tourist groups visiting our mountains.Basic need and objective of the project is the maintenance of the knowledge and skills of each participant, but mainly the further training and familiarization with specialised modern equipment (means of tracking, transceivers, ropes, knots, mountain stretchers etc) needed for rescues in inaccessible areas, where people and materials are tested hard. The methodology of the project will be based on the principles of informal and non-formal learning by combining theoretical elements and practical training seminars and discussions but mainly with participation in exercises "on the field", in natural spaces and on Alpine mountainsides. Training will include the following areas:-Orientation, using the compass, GPS, radio, simple meteorology-Familiarity with using mountaineering equipment (ropes, knots, rings, rivets)-Climbing and rappelling down Techniques-Simple body injuries-mountain stretcher-Research, locate and rescue missing personThe expected results are focused on acquiring new expertise and techniques, which will bring added value to existing skills and increase self-confidence, teamwork and the spirit of cooperation. In the long run, the participation in this programme will offer on one hand to the local society a group of young people and volunteers, with good education that their intervention, whenever necessary, will be of great quality and will be "professional", whereas on the other hand it will offer to the participants knowledge and skills for future vocational rehabilitation. The impact is expected to be strong and towards three directions:_ participants, will highlight the value of continuing education and lifelong learning-our organisation will offer "international" prestige, recognition and opening to the European space-in the local community, it will serve as an incentive for other youth groups to seek similar situations with the help of ERASMUS +.
