The partners of this project are Secondary Technical School in Prosek in Prague 9 and ADC College in London. The content of the project is participation of two groups (10 students and one accompanying teacher) on internship in companies focused on information technologies in London. The reason for creating this project is the effort of our school to constantly develop the quality of preparation of our students, to use the newest technological devices, which appear everyday in this branch and to verify the quality of education in a foreign competition, to support the success rate of our students on the labour market both in our country and abroad. The goals that we have set, will support the acquisition of practical technical and language skills of students and also will develop the soft skills of students through mobilities, which will be implemented in companies abroad.
The participants of mobilities will be always the students of the third year of study programme Information Technologies. These are the students who prepare themselves to achieve the level 4 EQF. The students will be chosen according to their vocational and language competences and according to their study results. The choice will be demanding because only one sixth of students could take part due to capacity reasons. The group will be always formed by 10 students and one accompanying teacher, because the students will be only 17-18 years old. The content of internship will be development of professional knowledge and skills of students in modern web technologies, especially in the field of responsive design of web applications, in specific conditions of appropriately chosen companies, which have technical opportunities of hardware and software. The students will familiarize with technical and user documentation of web pages, especially with the English version. Besides the acquisition of professional competences and skills in the field of web technologies we will also evaluate the level of soft skills of students, their ability to use specific skills, such as communication and presentation skills, teamwork, conflict resolution, self-confidence, tolerance, recognition of moral and ethical values, creativity, flexibility and initiative and workability.For the field of soft skills we will, already for the first internship of students, create a pilot unit of educational outputs according to the principles of ECVET. The experienced company workers together with mentors of our project partner will evaluate the level of soft skills development of the mobility participants. The experience and results obtained in the first year of the project will be used for shaping the content of student mobilities in the second year, when we plan to set the unit of educational result ECVET for the professional part of the project.
Whereas the field of informational technologies is undergoing rapid and continuous development and also the demands of employers for the work experience of graduates are continously increasing, the school uses all the possibilities to increase the professional level of education, so that its graduates succeed in the labour market in European extent or in their following studies at university. That is the reason, why the project verifies the knowledge which has been gained during the studies on different devices and in other environment, especially in the practice with the modern methods and professional technologies that are used in other countries. The students experience their skill of adaptability, gain other knowledge and motivation for their further professional growth. At the same time the foreign internship of students is for the labour market an evidence of their independence and their language skills. Language competences gained within the mobilities will persuade students not only of the necessity of practical usage of foreign language in everyday communication, recognition of realities of the country and acquisition of the necessary confidence, but also about the fact that English is also the professional language in the field of information technologies. The expected impact of the project will be principally in acquisition of specific knowledge, skills and competencies leading to improvement of the competitiveness of students in the local, national and European labour market. It will also improve communication skills, increase interest in technology and language learning, then increase independence and improve the presentation skills. Getting the Europass will be further motivation for acquisition of other practical experience. SPŠ Prosek will get other experience how to increase the level of education in each study programme, including the improvement of material conditions. The gained knowledge can be, according to options, the basis for development of other European tools that promote improving the quality in vocational training, especially ECVET.
