Students of Samuel Jurkovic Secondary Vocational School of Trade and Services in Bratislava participated in the mobility project within The ERASMUS+ Programme.
Their professional training during their studies was focused on gaining professional skills for carrying out the activities related to work in the field of trade and marketing.
By participation in the project, we provided our students with a more comprehensive professional education of higher quality which is above the standards of general curriculum set by the National Educational Program. New working environment in another European country created opportunities for students to get to know new working practices, compared the differences in the system and work management, in customer services as well as in communication with customers. It provided students with more flexible orientation and adaptation to new working conditions, improvement in their professional knowledge and skills, gaining work experience in another country.
Students were made to react flexibly and solved various unexpected situations with the aim to be helpful and to contribute to a customer′s complete satisfaction.
A sense of empathy and tolerance was needed to attain this goal, as well as understanding of the culture and mentality of people in a host country which broadened students′ horizons and improved their language skills.
Traineeship participation contributed to the improvement of students′ language skills, to their personality development, to the improvement of their school results and it increased their ability to get a job and be successful at the European job market.
The project was designed for the period of 12 months, Juny 2015 – Juny 2016.
Traineeships were divided into 2 rounds, in the period of autumn 2015 and spring 2016. Traineeeship was organized for a period of 4 weeks, 10 students participated, accompanied by teaching staff. They were responsible for integration of participants to the new social and professional environment, they helped to solve problematic situations and observed the advancement of professional training of participants according to work schedule.
The Professional training took place in the hypermarket GLOBUS in České Budejovice, the Czech Republic (autumn 2015 and spring 2016). Based on a written contract with the management of the hypermarket Globus, optimal conditions for gaining new experience in different fields of business and marketing activities were created for our students. At the same time, they appointed a contact person who supervised the implementation of the work plan for participants and coordinated specific working activities in cooperation with our teachers. At the end of the traineeship, participants got the Mobility - Europass and a certificate confirming their successful participation in the traineeship programme.
