Project „Renewable Sources – the Issue of 21st century“ resulted from the intention to enable continuous vocational training abroad to students of Vyšší odborná škola a Střední průmyslová škola Františka Křižíka (Tertiary and Secondary Technical school of Electrical Engineering of František Křižík), Praha 1, Na Příkopě 16. Regarding the school´s needs and the current trend towards more extensive utilization of renewable sources, we decided to establish cooperation with the Spanish school SAFA in Sevilla, which offers vocational training in the field of harnessing the solar energy. When working on the project, tools of ECVET will be used with the aim to enhance quality of vocational education and training, particular steps have been mentioned in detail at several previous places in the project. The goal of the project is intertwining of theoretical training provided by our school with practical skills in the area of renewable sources of energy, namely the exploitation of solar power. The host organisation has at their disposal material and technological equipment for vocational training at the level of modern companies, which is not available at our school. In addition, the host organisation has direct contacts with other businesses in the field and the vocational training is tailored to their needs. As a result our trainees will gain skills applicable at the international labour market. The project counts with three periods, together for secondary students of electrical engineering and IT and for tertiary students of power engineering (including an accompanying teacher). Schedule of the 14-day courses follows: 1st group of 16 participants 4.10.2015 - 17.10.2015 2nd group of 16 participants 9.10.2016 – 22.10.2016 3rd group of 16 participants 26.3.2017 – 8.4.2017 Secondary students of electrical engineering and IT will be chosen from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year. IT at our school is focused on Electrical engineering and so students of this field have theoretical electrotechnical training but practical training is equally important for them. Tertiary student will be chosen from all three years. Communication during the traineeship will be in English, so we do not expect significant communication barriers. In addition, before particular placements our school will organize, on its own expenses, intensive short-term language courses in technical English and in general Spanish. For each period there is a precise schedule of activities. The participants will be involved in module Solar Energy – from design of individual elements to final solar installation. Particular activities will be directed at photovoltaic cells and panels, related technical documentation and its preparation and processing, storing energy in batteries, practical use of rules and regulations for electrical installations and protective devices, correct application of measuring devices and processing the results, connecting the solar panel to the net and using the power for lighting and drip irrigation. Summing of all these skills will lead to the mounting of the solar installation and the participants will also get information about the latest trends and development in the field. Each workday the participants are employed at a specialized workplace under the guidance of an experienced tutor, Mr Hoyo de la Torre. There are three most important spheres of the expected results and impacts: 1) Gaining practical electrotechnical competences applicable at the labour market both in the Czech Republic and abroad – in particular understanding task assignment, determining the core of the problem, getting information necessary for solving it, suggesting and reasoning the way of solving, evaluating and checking its correctness. 2) The participants solve on their own common working and outside working issues, for solving more difficult or comprehensive tasks they cooperate in the frame of the international team. 3) The participants have a responsible approach to their own professional career and also to their continuous education and requalification. All these three points mentioned above contribute significantly to the long- term development of the participants.
