Nurses in practical training
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Medical School in Tetovo within the framework of this mobility has sent 30 students, with 5 teachers as accompanied persons on practical training in medical school in Celje in Slovenia. They spent 2 weeks of training in the facilities in the partner of the Celje school: one Hospital set in a senior citizen home , specialized for medical care of older people. The hospital is respected partner of the school, and the Slovenian students do their practical training during the whole year. Based on our previous findings and analysis (also self evaluation) of the practical training in our school, we are very aware that in our school there is a lot of work to do in the field of practical training for our biggest profile of Nurses. Especially our school has lack of experience in the field of care for older people, which is a problem in our country but also on the EU level. The project is in line with the ET 2020 and follows the recommendations of the Brudge communique. We would like to be part of the modern education practices and to improve the practical training in our school. Our students do not have chances due to their financial limitation to conduct such mobilities. The 30 students improved their set of skills in the medical care in general but also those specific for older people like: * Ongoing primary care * Short-term care after hospital discharge (transitional sub-acute care) * Review of medical history and general physical exams * Basics of palliative care (approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment. * IT supported methods in diagnostics etc. Those topics are treated by the Celje school in their curricula and practical training. Beside this the students developed their intercultural skills, developed their English language skills in communication with medical stuff, teachers, students from foreign country. Monitoring was done by 5 teachers in medical subjects from Slovenia. The project is accordingly disseminated with clear dissemination strategy.
