Nuevas tendencias pedagógicas
Date du début: 20 juin 2016, Date de fin: 19 juin 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

At the Official Language School of Jaen Xauen we have committed ourselves to innovative methodologies. We believe that the training of our teachers is essential in order to increase the quality of our teaching and we are convinced that collaboration with other European institutions will help us to achieve this goal. The number of participants in our school is 7 teachers, all of whom are language or translation graduates specialising in the language they teach and with extensive experience in teaching languages. At present, teachers have to face the challenges of a society subject to continuous change and need to adapt to new educational contexts. It is therefore essential to keep abreast of educational innovations related to new methodologies. This is why the selected activities are aimed at broadening knowledge of the new educational trends and the development of various skills and competences such as learning to learn, linguistic, sociocultural and digital competences. All activities will be carried out in the four working languages of our school so that teachers will have the opportunity to update and strengthen their own language competence, a must to meet the expectations of our students and the demand of high quality teaching. The experience and knowledge acquired will result in increased student motivation and improved academic results. Thus, the implementation of these new techniques will be reflected in the promotion and certification of students. In addition, if we offer students more motivating and innovative teaching methods, this will lead to a more enjoyable and enriching experience and consequently absenteeism and the dropout rate could be reduced. Moreover, we must not forget the adverse socio-economic factors which our students are facing. At present, the globalisation of economies requires workers to develop continuous learning skills and to be able to adapt to the constant changes in order to respond to new market demands. A large percentage of our students are unemployed, owing to the fact that Jaén suffers from one of the highest unemployment rates in Spain. Through the application of innovative methodologies we could achieve the objective of a larger number of students being awarded a diploma, demonstrating their linguistic competence, which would result in a higher employment prospects and greater competitiveness amongst our students. All things considered, it is our belief that this project will benefit not only teachers, but also students and will improve the teaching and learning process in which the entire educational community is involved. It will also have an impact on future students to be trained in our school, since this project will contribute to the development of ongoing teacher training. Finally, this project will also allow us to exchange ideas and experiences with teachers from other European countries, which will further enrich our teaching practice, as well as create partnerships with European institutions for the future development of a KA2 project.
