PROJET
TERMINÉ
17 students and 2 tutors were involved in the project. Students were recruited from the Technical School of Agricultural Engineering. Participants were selected from different classes and they had to have the appropriate knowledge and skills in the field of construction and operation of agricultural machinery and equipment. Before the internship all participants had gained adequate preparation in the classroom at school as well as during training practices.
These students also work on their parents’ farms where they perform a variety of work using different agricultural machinery and equipment e.g. plant protection or fertilization.
These are the most complex work in agriculture, so it is important to do the proper execution of the agricultural work, otherwise inappropriate chemical plant protection or fertilization destroy the environment and not improve the efficiency of yields. Their professional experience had already been on a fairly high level, and after the internship, that level rose significantly.
The aim of the project was to improve practical skills and gain professional knowledge that make up the professional qualifications of graduates of our school. Students had the opportunity to learn modern ways of fertilization, methods of preparation and agrotechnical protection products (including the environment) as well as learn about new equipment and machinery used for chemical plant protection and fertilization. In the training program they were taught about the issue of constructional solutions of machines and devices that enable to increase yields, reduce the labor and at the same time be less destructive to the natural environment of man.
In addition to the specific practical and theoretical skills participants became familiar with the new system of vocational education and training. In the future this may lead to standardization of methods of teaching in the countries of the European Union and the unification of all vocational qualifications - this can be done through this kind of training or retraining.
During their stay students had, outside the classroom directly at the location, trips to various companies producing agricultural equipment (CLAAS, DAMMANN) and farms to on-site to meet virtually different modern solutions related to agricultural technology. They could also observe directly the work of machines in the field. In production plants and farms, students became acquainted with the organization of production that occurs in German companies. They had the opportunity to observe the course of production, the use of modern solutions for the production and the whole of modern production lines. Participants could see how German companies care about the safety and environmental protection. That experience can be used in the future during the work.
A very important goal of the project was to learn about the culture of the neighboring country, its customs, organization of work and leisure. Germany is our the most important trading partner. The project participants working later in the country will be able to take advantage of the country that leads in the modern technological solutions and training to improve their own farms or institution where the work will take.
Gained knowledge and skills students will be able to verify and exploit at school during practical classes and practices. Imported materials and films will be used during the learnig of other students at school.
After graduating from high school, most graduates look for a job, which in our region is quite difficult. The experience gained during the practice abroad, the appropriate certificate of training received, in particular, adequate knowledge and skills would certainly help them to find a job. Many of the participants are going to take over farms after their parents. Being a farmer is very difficult nowadays, and only usege of the latest solutions, technology, knowledge allows the proper functioning of the farms and appropriate safety and environmental protection. Acquisition of new knowledge, skills and habits for the proper fertilization, safety and environmental protection, an operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery can have a very important impact on the effective running a farm.
Implementation of the project enables participants to increase the professional qualifications as well as improving the knowledge of the German language. It was essential to master professional terminology in the field of agricultural technology, as well as in communicating with the client or employer.
Students received a certificate confirming the completion of training, and the Europass Mobility confirming the acquisition of specific skills.
The project was managed by the following people: a headmaster - T. Budzisz, a deputy director - A. Sakowicz and a German teacher M. Sówka. The internship was completed in DEULI in Nienburg from 19.10 to 30.10.2015.
