The priority of the project „New teachers for a new school“ is to create a new type of teacher – innovative, imaginative and entrepreneurial. The Bulgarian education is undergoing radical changes in the regulatory base as special attention is paid to the quality of our school education with respect to its practical application, its feasibility and benefit. The inclusion of the new technologies in education, all raised requirements of the Ministry of Education as well as the increased demands of the society for active and practical acquiring of competences, instead of passive theoretical accumulation of knowledge, motivate the teachers to obtain new skills, to work in new conditions with a new type of students.The general objective of the project „New teachers for a new school“ is the strategic establishing of appropriate conditions for innovative development of NSMHS „Acad.Boyan Petkanchin“, corresponding to the guidelines of the European and national educational policies, the social and economic conditions in the country, the requirements and expectations of the students, their parents and teachers. The project implementation reference points are: establishing of new conditions for developing of pedagogical, linguistic and digital competences of the teachers through participation in international training activities; training of 17 teachers to master new teaching approaches and different working methods with students, focused on competence-based training and entrepreneurial thinking; initiating IT use to improve and diversify the educational process; motivating students and teachers to achieve advanced educational outcomes; enhancing innovations in the school education; practical application of the acquired competences in their direct school activities and establishing of a school development strategy to transform our school into an innovative one, corresponding to the objectives, set out in the Pre-school and School Education Act.The implementation of project „New teachers for a new school“ is part of the permanent development policy and strategy of NSMHS “Acad.Boyan Petkanchin” and it corresponds to the intelligent, stable and inclusive growth, incorporated in the strategy Europe 2020 as well as to its main objectives concerning education, innovations and employment. The project outcomes will be beneficial for the whole school and the local community with the transformed educational practice, focused on mastering of competences in different areas; enriching student work approaches and disclosing real life opportunities to students for application of their knowledge, skills, experience and values through entrepreneurship, communication and technologies; initiating pedagogical and technological innovations in education.
