The analysis of teaching and learning process at our school has shown that the number of students with bad results and student drop-outs is increasing. This problem is partly caused by insufficiently motivating family background and the personality of the student, who does not have the need for personal growth. Another problem is the increasing number of students with special needs and Roma students. These changes in the structure of learners produce a tense social climate at school. This calls for the teachers to obtain information and experiences in dealing with these problems. The aim of the project is to study the practice in other European countries and transfer their experience in terms of our school.
The project enables the participation of six members of the teaching staff in three training seminars abroad, organized by the institution "Forum Eltern und Schule". All participating teachers have many years of teaching experiences, participate in the management of the school, in solving problems of students, have been coordinating projects and work with Roma pupils.
The results of the project are to implement changes in the integration of Roma students, educational counseling (creation of a team of specialists) and drafting of a document - Plan of personal development of pupils and its application to teaching and training process.
We expect that the project will have an impact on improving the social climate in our school, increase students' motivation to achieve better results with a positive impact on the development of their personalities. Ultimately, these changes will help to increase their possibility of finding a suitable job, which is one of the priorities of the school development plan. The process of these changes will be long-term.
