The region of Zemplén provides a golden opportunity for cooperation int he fields of tourism. The basis of economic development is the appropriate level of tourist infrastructure. The global aim the project is to promote the attraction of the region of Zemplén by improving the values of the existing objects. The project activities are based on this aim:On the Slovak side the reconstruction of the castle in BielOnt he Hungarian side the improvement of the Museum of Kazinczy, which is situated in SátoraljaújhelyBy the realization of the project our goal is to develop the cultural and tourists centres of the region. Achievements: The main aim of the project was to increase the tourism potential and values of the border area. As a result of the project, the Sennyei Castles central building in Biel has been renovated and furniture has been purchased for the building. The Kazinczy Ferenc Museum in Sátoraljaújhely has been renovated too, an information desk has been purchased and an information center has been created. Many cultural events (literary evenings, concerts, musical events), temporary exhibitions take place in the renovated buildings. Thanks to the project, the touristic and cultural opportunities of the region have been broadened and the number of tourists visiting the region has increased.
