Notes sur le BalkanZug: projet itinérant de Straßburg à Constantinople
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2014 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Traveling project from Strasbourg to Istanbul : 20 young musicians (5 French / 5 German /5 Bosnians/5 Turks ) follow the track of the Orient Express train stolen by the German Empire during the 1st World War : Balkanzug : used for propaganda and material support of first trial to build Europe but through military power, political issues and thus state supremacy. Our young artists imagine Europe built on peace , humanism, fraternity and transmission of knowledge. What was happening in Sarajevo 14-18 , in Strasburg , Berlin, Belgrade, Constantinople ? Which monarchs took this train? What kind of music was played in Vienna in that time ? What did these people travelling make in Budapest? Will they find clues in the antiques market in front of Sofia's -at that time brend new- Alexander Nevsky Cathedral ? Our 20 detectives take notes , spread musical notes on their way, they send news on the multilingual-blog at each new stop , prepare a video report , fill their diplomatic pouch with articles or secret documents brought by their local partners. The enquiry begins in their respective countries, strategic points of this conflict, 4 cities , 4 points of view . It goes on in the train from Strasbourg to Istanbul. They stop at various train-stations, hosted locally by musician friends : taking this opportunity to both play music and look for new clues, collect notes. After return on November 11 (anniversary of the day where peace was signed in a Orient Express's wagon) they organize an event with concert in their 4 towns, deliver to an offcial the diplomatic bag , broadcast film and notes.
