Nordjobb is a non-profitable labour market exchange program that offers a package to youngsters which include: work, help with finding an accommodation, and help with the practical things (such as bank account, taxes etc.) and arranging different social and non-formal activities.The aim of the project “Nordic Job possibilities” is to improve the mobility of young people in the Nordic region. We identify that there are good possibilities to reduce youth unemployment through satisfying a pressing demand for qualified young workers on the Norwegian job market. Hence the name of the project Nordic Job Possibilities. The EVS volunteer will be part of the Föreningen Nordens Förbund/Nordjobb team for the duration of one year. The project will take place at Nordjobbs main office in Copenhagen, Denmark. The work tasks of the volunteer will be in relations to Nordjobbs. The volunteer will assist the project leaders especially of Nordjobb Sweden and Nordjobb Norway with the package that we offer youngsters. There is also room for individual initiatives and planning bigger events like seminars, camps, training courses and youth exchange programmes. In order to promote intercultural dialogue, the volunteer will also include in her planning various opportunities to share her own culture and national character through dance, music, food and language. In other words, the volunteer is not replacing any other person in the activity, but rather functioning as a compliment where both the volunteers and Nordjobb will learn from the experience. The EVS volunteer placement will provide a unique opportunity to expand knowledge of other cultures, integration, youth, non-formal learning and labour market in practice. Furthermore, the volunteer will share his/her new experiences upon return to native country and thus strengthen the collaboration and give birth to new forms of partnership between the two organisations involved in the project.
