This project directly addresses one of the main objectives of the Erasmus program + : Osashtestvyavane effective link between formal learning ( in the field of youth work ) and formal education to improve the competitiveness of young people in the labor market and combat increasing levels youth unemployment in Europe. According to analysis of Evrostad published in 2013, the share of inactive population aged 15-24 is above the European average - 69.6% . Worrying about Bulgaria is that the share of NEET.
The project aims to conduct sociological research, development methodologies and manuals, and training of professionals that will lead to conduct quality training activities in the field of youth to support the knowledge developed in schools and universities. So complement the needs of developing practical skills, social , interpersonal , communication , organizational, etc. . skills that are insufficient for the realization of young people on the labor market.
At present the measures taken to tackle youth unemployment are based on the improvement of vocational training or implementation of training programs and qualifications . All this is very closely tied to professional specialization of young people .
On the other hand employers and businesses agree that young people entering work are insufficient skills in areas directly related to their professional training - personal, social , communication , team , organizational , interpersonal and others. competencies.
In most European countries with highly developed youth work in the NGO sector be trusted ( and provide administrative funding) to conduct training activities and develop soft and business skills. It has been shown that young people's participation in projects , volunteering , stocks , exchanges and others. activities and support their personal development. At this level youth work in Bulgaria and Romania offers enough opportunities for self-improvement. But the fact is that in these cases the obtained learning results are only in the hands of the young.
On the other hand as countries still developing and perfecting is youth sector in Bulgaria and Romania young people have adequate access to quality learning activities based on non-formal learning and conducted by qualified youth workers and trainers . In these activities , unlike the above possibilities for individual improvement youngsters develop targeted support in the long run by qualified experts set the following specific learning objectives .
The current situation on the labor market in the countries involved in the project (and in many other countries of Central and Eastern Europe) is as follows:
1. Youths out of formal education with a diploma based on a large amount of specialized theoretical knowledge and practical skills without .
2 . Formal education neglects the development of social , communication , team , organizational, interpersonal skills (soft skills) that are essential for realization in work and business environment.
3 . Employers and businesses highlight the importance of professional knowledge, but also highlight the importance of soft skills for the implementation of the youth.
4 . Formal education has no capacity to provide opportunities for young people to develop specific practical skills to meet the needs of business and increase competitiveness of young people on the labor market.
From my long experience in international youth work , youth work training teachers and work as a basic institution of Sofia University " St. Kliment Ohridski " We believe that at present the implementation of closer contact between youth work and formal education will lead to visible change in young people. By increasing the number of qualified youth workers focused on the development of young people in specific areas improve their success will be another tool in the fight against youth unemployment.
The main objective of the project is :
Increase efficiency and capacity in youth work to develop skills for personal development and fulfillment in life and the labor market .
We will achieve its goal by increasing the capacity per ml. workers to implement pedagogical methods aimed at developing practical skills in young people in a structured learning process based on informal learning .
