The project is born from the real need to educate and propagate the mutual understanding between different minorities living in Europe and their hosting countries. Given the current political and social situation in Europe, on one side, European national communities being afraid of minorities, on the other side stronger and stronger nationalist movements that are fruit of too quickly jumped conclusions, can lead us to conflicts in places and between social groups that earlier co-existed without major problems. According to PewResearch Center carried out in 2015 "In about two-thirds of the countries in Europe, organized groups used force or coercion in an attempt to dominate public life with their perspective on religion. In many cases, organized groups that oppose the presence of minority religious groups in their country intimidated or attacked these religious communities. This type of social hostility was much more prevalent in Europe (30 of 45 countries, or 67%) than in the rest of the world (38%). In some cases, attempts to dominate public life with a particular perspective on religion included online intimidation of minority religious groups, including posting anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim rhetoric." The above-mentioned opinion seems to be confirmed by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, that states, in spite of diverse legal instruments that are supposed to provide protection against racism and other related forms of intolerance towards ethnic and religious minorities in the EU countries, the minority representatives continue to face discrimination, intolerance, verbal and physical violence, and exclusion. Of course it always depends on people and who we encounter on our way, but this situation might be attenuated thanks to educating people as lack of knowledge is the worst factor triggering hatered and agression. Our project is aimed at preventing such a situation by educating the societies on both sides (minorities and hosting countries’ societies). These are the following product to be worked during the project lifecycle:1.Comparative study of the minorities' status (basing on the example of Jewish communities) in project partner countries taking into account existing EU regulations in this fielda. Legal status of non-dominant religious and language communities in Europe (problems connected to different status and acknowledgement of minorities in European countriesb. Religious minorities - examples, procedures, acknowledgement and liberty of religious practice)c. Public and private education in case of minorities - language and religion of minorities (which educational strategies are more advantageous from the minorities’ language and religion preservation)d. Non dominant minorities' languages in public domain (legal regulations, relations official language-minority language, legal linguistic rights of minorities)2.Guidelines to improve and standardize the minorities' status in Europe3. Educational curriculum to use as a self-standing educational course but as well for self-study) regarding:a. the Jewish communities in comparison with the most numerous other minorities in the project partner countries (different aspect of the curriculum per each partner as each partner will compare their Jewish community with another minority in their country)b. conclusions from the comparative study and guidelines on the status of minoritesc. tollerance and anti-discrimination workshops4. Educational materials available in a digital form on a website/platform to use as a self-standing educational course but as well for self-study regarding:- the Jewish communities in comparison with the most numerous other minorities in the project partner countries- conclusions from the comparative study and guidelines on the status of minorites- materials for the tollerance and anti-discrimination workshops.
