TERMINÉ
At the Agricultural College of St. Florian sustainability and the European dimension play an important role. There are already wide experiences about European co-operation with partner schools. The ERASMUS+ school-to-school project "Wildes Europa - Biodiversität in Natur- und Kulturlandschaften" was started in autumn 2014. In 2015 the first KA1 mobility project for school education staff "NEWS - Neue Englische Wege in der Schule" was started. The transfer of European values, the improvement of English lessons and the preparation of the introduction of CLIL lessons as well as the internationalisation of the key course element "Regional Development" and intercultural aspects were the motivation for the project "NEWS - Neue Englische Wege in der Schule". These objectives should be pursued in the submitted project "NEWS II". The project aims to insure high quality and competence oriented English classes, that are motivating both for teachers and students. Knowledge about culture and geography will further improve content and quality of the lessons. In addition the language skills, necessary for the preparation for CLIL lessons, will be aquired. Two participants will attend the English courses: The English and English Fachseminar teacher who lived and worked abroad, who has aquired several additional certificates (i.e. EPICT) and who develops tasks for the standardized A-levels in Austria will attend the Cultural Experience Course. The other teacher will attend a Englishcourse with Work Experience. He will be involved in the preparation of CLIL lessons. He carried out several EU-projects in the past and is now the senior project manager of the ongoing ERASMUS+ projects. He is an expert in regional development and teaches "Rural Development" at the HLBLA St. Florian. The activities in the project are devided in three phases. The preparation phase (language, cultural, regional preparation), the main activities (language courses) and the follow-up phase (presentation of project results at school, transfer of aquired language and cultural knowledge). The participants themselfs have organised the project activities as agreed upon with the head master. The results (cultural and regional knowledge, language and work experience) will be presented to the entire teaching staff at the beginning of the next school year. The European dimension will be strengthend and the access to future potential co-operations with European schools will be facilitated. To sum up, the quality of English lessons will be improved, the preparation for the introduction of the CLIL teaching method in 2018 and new European partnerships will be supported.
