New Skills and Experiences from working in Europe
Date du début: 22 août 2016, Date de fin: 21 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Through international contacts at school prepares students for a working life with increasingly close communication across national and cultural borders. Internationalization helps us to see our own reality in the global context. We get perspective on our own existence and will be challenged in our way of thinking. Good situational understanding is created in the interaction between theory and practice. In Nösnäsgymnasiets international development plan, it says, among other things, that everyone in the school; -"should help to develop students ' sense of belonging, solidarity and responsibility for people outside their own group".The project is addressed to the students at Hotel- and Tourism program at Nösnäsgymnasiet, and the idea is to cooperate with various countries in Europe to have such a broad view on the European labour market. For educational purposes, it is important for young people to increase their employability and acquire new skills while they develop as active citizens. In the project 8 students will spend nine weeks in Cyprus and 4 students six weeks in Dublin. We have chosen to collaborate with organisations in Dublin and Aya Napa. To these cities, we will send both boys and girls, so that we can later examine the differences and similarities that exist between countries. The project aims also to students to develop their language skills. They should also develop their social and communicative capacity while they develop themselves by learning to a new cultural environment. Students will during the practice keep other students and staff up to date on what they are doing through social media such as blog, Skype, Face book and Twitter. They will be a supervisor in each city who are in contact with Nösnäsgymnasiet and students. Upon returning home, students will pass on their new skills to their classmates and teachers as well as to their internships they have at home. They will spread their experiences through exhibitions, websites such as Nösnäs, the municipality's website as well as the municipality's international project page. They will also visit other schools in the municipality and tell about what opportunities there are to make their internship in another country and thus become a citizen of the world.
