Overall objectives: The principles of the sustainable development – the conscious and responsible exploitation of the sources in such a way that these sources should be kept for the generation of the future – creation a local society that will apply tha SD basic principles widespreadly, that will provide the economic prosperity, the protection of the natural resources and a high level quality of life for its inhabitants. The preparation and the empowerment of the youth so that they can use the above mentioned goals in practice with the support of the society. Main activities: The principles and the practice of the sustainable development in the school and in the local community – need assessment. Formation of school developing working group – 2x3 –day long residential training. Mentoring. School Sustainable Development strategy, preparation of an action plan, formation of a network. The development of the stock of devices Experience exchange and knowledge sharing. Publicity. Project team developing and project evaluating workshop. Local community/ family programs. Opening and closing conference. Expected Results: A school strategy and action plan based on the local needs and will be made along the pillars of the sustainable development (economy-social-environment). It includes the allocation program of the necessary sources; development of the health-environmental conscious behaviour is built into the school curriculum. It will use the tools of empowerment and they will provide the strengthening of the social capital with the creation of the supporting environment; environmental-health conscious, health promoting school setting will come into existence containing an ECO playing house as a model; In each school a local « sustainable developing » school team (SD Team) will be formed; A developing team will be born in the local communities. With the help of the mentoring team they will prepare for the fund raising – project planning and writing, project realization, evaluation – for the successful application of the EU sources both in the school and in the wider social scenes. The schools participating in the Hungarian-Ukrainian crossborder cooperation will form the Network of SD committed schools.
