Network for Green Office Standardization in the EU
Date du début: 1 janv. 2011,

Because of the environmental burden caused by offices (40% of raw materials and resources are used up by offices, worldwide), it is accepted in the EU that companies and non-profit organizations have to play a (pro)active role in preventing and solving environmental problems. Office managers of companies often have sustainability policies, but do not have the expertise and/or resources to train office managers on how to manage their office to make it "green" (Green office: environmentally and human friendly place to work at). There are no Green office trainings available for office managers in a structured form in the EU, furthermore there is no standardization in the EU for ecological footprinting. SMEs are particularly in need, as they have even less resources/motivation. VET professionals dealing with office management issues do not have the appropriate skills and training materials for effective trainings.Main outputs of the project:'Trainers workshop' training package for VET Green office professionals.Printed materials and toolkit to accompany trainings. European version of the Office ecological footprint calculatorGreen office competition in 6 countriesEuropean Green office standardsExtensive dissemination and exploitation to ensure sustainability of the programmeImpact:Trainings developed in the project will1. provide EU companies with Green office trainings, motivating them on green office management, thus contributing to make them more environmentally conscious.2. allow European organizations to train their own Green office trainers, thus helping them on the way to becoming more sustainable. The project will reach- VET professionals at consortium partners (16-20 in 6 countries)- environmental or office managers (70) and employees (400-500) of different organizations (e.g. companies, public institutions, NGOs)- a wide range of corporate and other stakeholders in EU through awareness raising, dissemination and exploitation activities.
