NE©XT - New European Creative Talent
Date du début: 1 mai 2011,

A wheelchair that can be transformed into a car, designed by a Romanian artist and discussed with local young people with a handicap; Irish video artists collecting narratives from young Lithuanians living in Dublin, shown in a lorry touring in the city: two examples, characteristic for the NE©XT generation of artists! NE©XT provides an exceptional platform for the most original young artists in all arts disciplines to present/perform in an inspiring European environment. Producers, curators, directors, talent scouts, cultural operators, arts educators and policymakers connect with young artists during presentations/ performances and in challenging public debates. To the selected young artists NE©XT provides a brilliant start of their career, artistic mobility, intercultural competence and the experience there is much to win from being active in Europe. To European Capitals of Culture it brings the opportunity to directly connect and work with emerging artists from across Europe. The 2-year project develops an online and live concept, with a high quality online presentation of selected artistic work and two large-scale live events in Tallinn, Estonia 2011 and in Guimarães/Porto, Portugal 2012, with a distinctive focus on attracting new audiences. Each year an international jury selects max. 150 of the most original degree works from all arts disciplines. Out of these, 20-30 artists get the opportunity to present/perform live. The project facilitates an arts alumni network of young artists and offers training to the initiators. In order to sustain the concept, the partners will assess/explore different formats for the further development of NE©XT. The University of Winchester, Faculty of Arts coordinates NE©XT, in partnership with a group of committed, experienced art schools, European Capitals of Europe and in alliance with the European League of Institutes of the Arts, connecting with the majority of art schools in Europe.
