The service who takes care about the younger part of the population in Seclin, use to defend the values of peace, opennesse and solidarity, tries throughall these actions to make his young people respectable and respected citizens. The community wishes to extend this notion of citizenship in Europe and about the project , enter the population in a participatory approach. To do this, the municipality decides to establish youth exchange program in Europe with a quality portuguese partner who shares this common desire and interest in this kind of exchange. By this action, we want to cause a meeting between young people aged 14/17 years from different cultures and backgrounds, we have to think about the theme of living together applied to the field of non-formal education. Youth participation begins before departure for a good preparation of staying abroad, it takes part of the participatory approach. They will camp near a retirement home, in the Lumiar area located in the northern district of Lisbon. And 8 young French mixed with 8 young Portuguese are going to share every day for 2 weeks a place and knowledge. The various activities will focus on the sharing of cultures with discovery games , tours and workshops. Part of the activities will be dedicated to creat group cohesion living experiences strong as in exceptional a activities or when organizing intergenerational events. Finaly, the city hopes to sustain this kind of initiative with the current partner, but she is also open to other possibilities. It would instill a dynamic European mobility on its territory, helping young people to educate themselves informally traveling, not being afraid to staying abroad but realize that it is a personal enrichment and a major asset in the working world .
