The project concerned Innovation Centre Mill of Knowledge (ICMK) - the municipal cultural institution. The aim of the project was to increase the international activity of ICMK. This aim was achieved through participation of institution`s representatives in the annual conference of the European Network of Science Centers and Museums ECSITE in 2015 and 2016. In 2015 in the conference participated 3 representatives, including ICMK Director and Head of Development, Marketing and Promotion and Head of Science and Education. In 2016 participated the same representatives. The applicant implemented the project in accordance with the plan described in the application including providing substantial support before leaving (for example organizing a language and logistics support for trips organization). The project fully achieved planned results in terms of growth of competence, personal and professional development, which positively affected the activities of the institution. Project results achieved in 2015: - Enhanced skills in establishing cooperation between science centers and enterprises on the basis of good practices implemented in MUSE, Science Centre Copernicus, Science Centre in Padua. - Enhanced skills in communication with journalists at local, regional and national level, including the field of science journalism, - Increased competences in the various forms of journalism, - Increased competences in the organization of conferences - how to deal with difficult situations encountered by moderators, - good practices exchange in the organization of the conference in terms of organization, logistics, and promotion, - Increased knowledge in the field of contemporary trends in science centers development, as well as in how to research visitors. - Increased knowledge on the role of science centers in building a dialogue between young people and scientists. - Increased knowledge in the field of human resource management in science centers, - Exchange of best practices and insights on the impact of science centers on community, in terms of commitment to customers and implementation of the research carried out by science centers or with their cooperation, - Established cooperation with other science centers and institutions which resulted in the participation of representatives of CNMW as speakers in sessions conducted in 2016. - The growth of knowledge in the area of creating interactive exhibitions and business aspects of traveling exhibitions, - Increased knowledge in the area of technological aspects of building exhibitions, - Established business contacts with companies specializing in the construction of exhibitions and companies renting exhibitions, - Inspiration to create new workshops. Project results regarding with non-formal adult education achieved in 2015: - Creation of a special recruitment for the position informant for adults; - The creation of the project "The Mill science" includes a series of workshops support intergenerational communication, including two workshops for adults "Laughter Therapy" and "Etiquette and savoir vivre." - Creation of three scenarios workshops for seniors in cooperation with KPOP Leviathan viz. "Smell - your way to well-being," Sam sweetness", “Food pyramid” - The introduction offer guided tours, - Organizing Laboratory Neurokognitywnego UMK zone in the European Researchers' Night 2015 - Complement the program of activities of the club "Belferski Młynek" of training for teachers of different educational levels and areas of communication, self-presentation and new educational methods, - The organization of three conferences for teachers „Nauczyciel w centrum uwagi” edition 1 (2015 r.) and edition 2 (2016 r.) and also „Uczenie (się) przez odkrywanie – IBL w praktyce” (2016 r.). Project results achieved in 2016: - Established professional contacts, which resulted in joining consortiums developing applications for projects under the framework of Program Horizon2020, - Inspired to create new ideas for workshops and presentations for example: Rube-Goldberg machine, - Inspired to create the concept of the exhibition for teenagers - Developing new activities offered by ICMK for example creative zones in the exhibition, - Presentation of ICMK offer on international forum and establishing business contacts (renting traveling exhibitions developed by ICMK), - Increased knowledge and competence in the field of science communication and marketing. Project results regarding with non-formal adult education achieved in 2016: - The introduction of new forms of activity - BioArt zone - implemented during special evenings for adults JaKobieta on 06/10/2016, - Creation of the concept of the photography workshop possible to carry out in the exhibition during the evening theme for adults JaKobieta on 06/10/2016 - Creation of workshops with the Department of Research and Development Company Pollena Ewa addressed to the participants of the special evenings JaKobieta, - The organization of training to build their image, which by Joanna Cieslak-Ospalska the theme of the evening for adults JaKobieta on 03.03.2016 - Organizing a demonstration machine Rube-Goldberg, during the evening opening of the exhibition for adults "... It's so simple.", - Placing the exhibits co-written by visitors in the ICMK space - To organize the first meeting of the "Science - it's so simple!" on 27/10/2016. Introduced new forms of activity described above led to the enrichment of the educational program ICMK, its diversity, in particular, the introduction of special educational offer for adults. The changes are positively received by the public offer. Moreover, the project had a positive impact on: - improvement of effective communication skills, - improvement of language skills, - development of interpersonal skills, - learning new ways of science popularization The document confirming acquiring above mentioned skills and knowledge is a certificate of participation issued by Ecsite. Each participant mobility has received a signed certificate. ICMK hopes that the established contacts will result in long-term benefits in terms of implementation of joint projects and activities.
