This is planned to be achieved as follows: Volunteers are invited to participate in the research, educational and rehabilitation activities of the marine and wildlife sectiosn of NTM in particular and of other NTM sections in general, learning by doing, being creative, increasing awareness on wildlife and sharing the experience of a European research project in marine rehabilitation. NTM thus helps volunteers undergo informal education and training in nature conservation and environmental education skills. The project will help them become more independent and mature and be prepared to meet the challenges of life. Furthermore it will also expose them to living in another EU country with a different culture etc. The EVS volunteers will be involved in the conservation work in • the Nature Reserves such as conservation work, tree nursery, watering of young trees, bee keeping, etc., • environmental education activities with children, school visits and environmental games, • marine turtles rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation centre, • Youths work and NGO administration work . The volunteers may also participate in campaigns such as Climate change, biodiversity protection, waetr conservation, etc. The volunteers will work in cooperation with the organisations’ employees, activists and members and will have the opportunity to involve oneself, be exposed, share and learn by doing from any of the activities organised by Nature Trust (Malta). All EVS activities shall be initially coached and supervised by trained NTM staff. The partner organisations of which the EVS was a member at the time of selection will be kept up-to-date about the proceedings of the EVSes and their input and suggestions will be highly valued. It is hoped that continued partnership between the partner organisations takes place for other activities. Once the project is accepted information about Malta, especially its culture and environment will be sent to them for familiarisation.
