n transboundary management of nature reserves at Lake Peipus area - Alam-Pedja Emaj?uursoo and Remidov nature reserves (Management of nature reserves transbounday region)

The project under this call is initiated in order to determine needs on transboundary management possibilities for three nature reserves at Lake Peipus - Remidov (64 900 ha) nature reserve in Pskov oblast Alam-Pedja (26 000 ha) and Emaj?uursoo (32 600 ha) nature reserves in Tartu and J?a County. All three areas have been designated as Wetlands of International Importance determined by The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.The need for the project activities was passed to Estonian Fund for Nature (ELF) by Emaj?uursoo nature reserve administration and supported afterwards by project partners - Nature Conservation Society 'Eagle' (Kotkas) and Baltic Fund for Nature of Saint-Petersburg Naturalists Society (BFN). During the project contacts are establishised on administrative and personal level between nature conservation experts working in the region. 2 study tours 3 work seminars additional site visits and field works allow to assess and evaluate existing management and determine common activities on transboundary scale. Study tours give possibility to exchange knowhow and experiences between experts working in different states and areas and for cooperation between experts.
