The knowledge economy and the demand for 21st century skills are transforming education and training. Young people must come to see the relevance of what they are learning at school. When they leave formal education, they should be marketable in today’s rapidly changing workforce. This is why, alongside solid grounding in traditional subjects, the key competence for entrepreneurship and initiative has become more essential than ever. JA-YE Europe believes that young people who have had entrepreneurial experiences as part of their schooling will ultimately be more confident of their abilities—whether they choose employment or entrepreneurship later on. The positive outcomes and impacts are thanks to the strategic partnerships built between schools and the communities around them that are core to JA-YE's approach: young people are exposed early on to diverse adult role models, to the world of work and to real world challenges. Objectives: 1. Ensure our programmes are always relevant to real-world needs: a. Increase the employability skills of VET students by growing the number of activities we do in this field.b. Improve high-level skills such as financial literacy, STEM skills, digital literacy and languages learning of young people age 6-25.c. Support an expanded 360 degree training-of-trainers scheme for teachers (primary and secondary school) which would reach 4000 teachers over 3 years and provide a Virtual Guide to Entrepreneurial Learning. d. New: Increase the number of volunteers participating in the programmes through online engagement via webinars, e-mentoring, e-volunteering platform and virtual classrooms.e. New: Digital Materials and Mobile Apps with multimedia content; easy to translate2. Multiply and sustain our activities by partnering with public and private sector organisations a. Strengthen existing relationships to increase resources, including board members, funding, volunteers, shared intellectual capital, and in-kind gifts that build, support and sustain the organization.b. Build and strengthen relationships with pan-European associations. c. Increase cooperation with public authorities for the implementation of policies and reforms in the field of education and training.d. Work more closely with the 100 universities across Europe which are engaged in the Start-Up Programme to reach out to fellow higher education institutions to encourage them to build early stage entrepreneurship education activities into their curricula3. Study transformational impact on young people a. Test "Impact Measurement Framework" toolb. Assess impact of special eventsb. Describe competences gained through mini-companies. Implement pre-post self-assessment tool for participating students. c. Roll out new Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP), an international qualification that certifies students (aged 16-18) have gained the practical experience, knowledge, skills and competences to start a business or to be successfully employed. 4. Improve organizational effectivenessa. Engage network in new Strategic Plan for JA-YE Europeb. Expand the use of collaboration technology and embed more social media in our activitiesc. Organize networking meetings for staff members, board members and teachersd. Work with the board members to create new partnerships.e. Implement a CRM database.f. Increase the mobility of young people by creating a student internship programme.
