My Way
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Pan-Hellenic Association of Adapted Activities ALMA from Greece and Institute of Applied Behavior Analysis IAA from Norway will cooperate in “MY WAY” project to exchange opinions and experiences in order to improve the services to the people with autism and mental retardation. It's imperative, under the circumstances of the reformation of psychiatric services in Greece that leads most of the great welfare units to closure, that we create the right conditions for the independent living of people with mental disability or autism, that includes their job prospects. Our purpose is to build the base for durable and long-term services that will support people with disabilities and their families. The 20 educators that will participate in this project from the two countries already work in programmes for adults with mental disabilities and are fully qualified in order to optimize the knowledge they will obtain from this project, theoretically, practically and through superintendence. During the programme but also after the end of it, every therapeutic intervention will be evaluated and reorganized. The prospective results of this programme will impact on the job prospects for people with mental disability or autism, that will lead to the best possible job for them. As we fully respect their wishes and their abilities and having really high expectations for them, we try to support them to live independently and work in the most suitable job, while we always solve any problems that may occur in a democratic way. In a long-term view, we try to give to the people with mental disability or autism the opportunity to make decisions for the main issues of their lives.
