The Association Europeahaus der Pfarre Pulkau with the seat in the small baroque town Pulkau , 80 kilometers north of Vienna and 15 km south of the Czech border organized since 1998, youth exchange projects and leads since 2000, hostel with the same name, with necessary infrastructure. Compliant with our statutes, our main task was " the lived eastern enlargement of the European Union". Because EU fostered the cooperation with non-European countries located outside the membership area , for some years we want to build a bridge in same direction. Our skills and orientations are in the area of youth exchanges and intercultural communication and the method rests on a long experience in the creative and leisure education and also cultural exchange. This year's theme is about a problem that the EU and each individual member and the neighboring country concerns: youth unemployment and the need for concrete measures in cooperation with stakeholder. The idea was born after a long discussion on the forum with many young Europeans who have participated in our youth meetings . What we want to achieve is to strengthen the participation of young people on democratic decisions and encourage them in their country to take professional advice and to make the right decisions for their training or their jobs. For us and the involved institutions and groups, we want to promote the development of quality youth work and enhance the international dimension of activities in the youth field and that thereby the non-formal learning takes more recognition. Four EU partners and Azerbaijan have agreed to participate . Each country, Austria too, is represented by six young people and 1 youth leader . So, we expect 42 participants. They work in youth and cultural associations, are volunteer in social projects, some are engaged in care of the young unemployed, formal and informal groups, students and young unemployed people and two people from a youth center (orphanage) to be accompanied by a carer . The activities are an application of non-formal and informal learning : workshops such as theater, dance, singing, painting, meetings and thematic discussions with the political and economic main actors on the labor market in our rural areas, leisure and sporting activities, intercultural communication and language development; Learning by doing a few hours of practice in a Peasant and / or gastronomic family farms in our wine-growing area. Once the decision has been made in Europahaus Pulkau for a Youth in Action project and Ersamus + framework and the objectives were clarified, we added contacts with the partner. After the e-form has been completed, follow the next organizational decisions. For the project implementation is available a trained team and the infrastructure of our youth hostel and the surrounding area. We look forward to an active and creative participation from the side of all partner countries . The expected results are the first to achieve our project goals, especially that the participants make more living and learning experiences, be open to other cultures and mentalities. The long-term benefits of the exchange is to follow different for the individual. They will be used in their country for more democracy and more participation of youth in building a socially and more just society .
