The activities planned under the project, related to development of cultural traditions and increase of cross-border artistic contacts between local communities, act as a major motivator for the establishment of sustainable cross-border partnerships. The main tasks of the project are providing appropriate conditions for the development of joint creative events, increasing the positive attitude of the local communities towards Bulgarian and Serbian culture, capacity building for practical partnership between cultural institutions, artists and amateur performers from the two regions.The training and the several public cultural events, planned under the project, will enhance the qualifications of cultural personnel from Kyustendil and Nis in the field of music education, which in turn will be a prerequisite for the development of comprehensive cultural products. Through mobilizing the capacity and the resources of the two partnering organizations and through the joint activities, the project aims at promoting good neighbourly relations and fostering stability, security and prosperity in the mutual interest of the two countries. By involving local stakeholders from the communities of the two border regions – Kyustendil and Nis in the implementation of the project activities, we will provide opportunities for establishment of efficient partnerships in the field of culture and cultural tourism, aiming to enable the sustainable development of the cross-border region. Achievements: The project envisioned and achieved the following results:- 20 Music teachers from Bratstvo 1869 and Music School Nis trained to use music software;- 8 joint cultural events held in Kyustendil and Nis - concerts and exhibitions;- 20 organizations from Kyustendil and Nis, promoted working in the field of cultural tourism;- Promoted works of 40 painters from Kyustendil and Nis;- On-line Music Library created and functioning: http://cbma.projectkn.com- Partnership between Bratstvo 1869 Community Centre and Music School Nis strengthened and expanded;- Through the implementation of the project were gave opportunity to perform to the young musical talents as well as the already recognized ones from the two cross-border municipalities, Kyustendil and Nis and were presented to the public the authentic folklore from the two regions as well as the achievements in the field of the classical music. In this way were contributed to the mutual understanding of the cultures of the two regions, increase the cross-border mobility of cultural figures and support the acquiring of new knowledge, building new skills and gaining confidence of a new kind.The project was successfully completed in April 2014.
