Multi-Parametric Network for the Study and Monitoring of Natural Hazards in the Otranto Channel and the Ionian Sea
(OTRIONS)
The first objective of the project is to create an instrumental network able to monitor, at the same time, seismicity, crustal deformations and sea level variations. The second objective is to provide the tools to interpret the data collected by the network, taking into account the possibility that earthquakes can generate tsunamis. Main Expected outputs: • New seismic and geodetic stations • Upgrade of existing seismic and geodetics stations • New tidal gauges • Coordination centers • Elaboration of tsunami scenarios • Elaboration of vulnerability maps
