Moving through mobility: unlocking the opportunities of KA1 for Young Health Care Workers

CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND: This project will be implemented in our sending institution IES Gabriel Miró from Spain and the sending institution WINNOVA from Finland. This is a VET mobility project implemented in our VET studies Health and Social Care. This project constists of student mobility for training and teaching staff mobility in Finland.The institution has seven-year previous experience in HE Europe funded mobility activities, but this is the first time we apply for VET mobilities. The project is intended as the best way to give continuity to our European expereince.OBJECTIVES- Improving knowledge, procedures and skills related with Health and Social Care.- Promoting international cooperation among all the participating agents in the training experience.- Promoting the interchange of good practices- Modernizing our working systems- Increase cooperation in VET, disseminating the project's outcomes with our Spanish companies and institutions in Health and Social Care field where ' On the Job training' takes place.NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS: Students and teachers from IES Gabriel Miró will participate: 4 just graduated students in Health and Social Care and 4 teachers with teaching hours in our VET studies of Health and Social Care from different academic fields: Community Servicies, Social Community Intervention, Social and Health Procedures and ACTIVITIES:Developing the framework for cooperation between the competent institutions IES Gabriel Miró and the hosting insitution WINNOVA. It has been agreed during the application phase.Online contact between the coordinators from both institutions.Establishing the list of VET providers and companies: Elderly people homes in Pori and Rauma and Town hospital of Pori.Arrangement of the basic aspects for the implementation of the mobilities. WINNOVA will organise, arrange and advised about accommodation, travel to work , Health and Accident insurance, work clothes, meals during the stay, induction programme, language and cultural preparation. IES Gabriel Miró will cover their costs.Defining Training Agreement for teachers and students related to Health and Social Care Profile.Implementing Training Agreement during the mobilities.Assessing the results, outcomes, experiences and project after the mobilityMETHODOLOGY. Based on team working, active participation of all participants.RESULTS AND EXPECTED IMPACTWe expect an increase in students' professional compentes, language skills in a foreign languae and employability in an open and international professional labour market. Teacher are expected to promote the interchange of good practices, widen their academic knowledge related to Health and Social Care Profile and deeper understanding of the hosting institution and VET companies.We expect to keep our institutional relationship for further mobilities in the future.From an European and international point of view, we expect to be considered a hosting institution for other VET institutions interested in visiting us and training mobilities as it is the case of our nowadays partner WINNOVA from Finland who has applied for the same KA102 project in their National Agency.LONG TIME BENEFITS: Give opportunity to our VET students for training in European companies and developing the Internationalization Strategy of our institution. At a national level, if our aplication is successful we will have the opportunity to participate in National training meeting organized by SEPIE and share good practices with other national VET institutions. At an European and International level, we will be a hosting institution for other European VET institutions willing to visit us and training mobilities as it is the case of our nowadays partner from Finland WINNOVA who has applied for the same KA102 project in their National Agency.
