PROJET
TERMINÉ
BACKGROUND
Moving Generation Volunteering is the results of former projects (Moving Generation, Moving Generation Pro) which have in common the necessity of adopting learning mobility as a way to improve individuals’ personal development toward the fulfilment of their European citizenship and acquisition of key competences. During the identification phase of the project cycle the partners have analysed the needs of young people in the light of the actual socio-economic context, acknowledging that:
- There is a need of developing key competences in young people which are necessary for their personal and professional development, as well for an inclusive, smart and sustainable growth of Europe
- European Youth workers and organizations working with EVS need to develop further skills and enhance the synergies/coordination in order to avoid low quality volunteering experience for young people
- Competences learned through mobility and in particular EVS are not sufficiently recognized by formal education or employers.
OBJECTIVES
Therefore Moving Generation Volunteering is aimed at:
- Providing young people with key competences tied to the processes of internationalizations that are taking place in Europe, especially at local level.
- Increasing competences and coordination of youth workers and organizations in order to provide high quality EVS experiences.
- Raising awareness of competences learned through EVS in stakeholders from formal education and labour market.
NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS
Moving Generation Volunteering is going to set in motion a process that will involve 16 young people in European Voluntary Service activities abroad. Although the possibility of participate in the activities will be open to all young people from 18 to 30, particular attention will be paid to young people aged from 18 to 25 attending higher education courses (at university or vet level) or unemployed people in search of an occupation or further education. For these groups of people EVS is a possibility to express their potential and a way to discover new interests and get inspiration for further education of for a new occupation.
6 youth workers will also take part in the activities with the objective of gaining more competences on planning and management of high quality mobility projects for young people and becoming more familiar on the recognition processes for the competences learned in non-formal and informal contexts. Youth workers will be chosen among individuals involved in the organization of mobility activities in the partners organization. These practitioners can be either experts with the need of improving their competences or inexperienced youth workers in need of training.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITES AND METHODOLOGY
The activity concerns the organization of European Voluntary Services 6 months for 18 young people. The participants will be sent in 2 flows, each one composed by 8 young people. The volunteering experience will take place in European 6 countries, young people will be volunteering with expert organization in the field of EVS, which will ensure the quality of the activities the volunteer will carry out.
In addition, 6 mobilities of youth workers will be organized, each one with a duration of 15 days.
Definition, assessment, validation and recognition of learning objectives reached by participants will be carried out through the implementation of the existing tools (Youthpass, Europass CV ) and with the experimentation of learning badges. The countries of destination will be: Belgium, France, Greece, Hungary, Poland and Spain.
RESULTS AND IMPACTS
Giving the dimension and the number of actors involved at regional level, it is expected that the project will have an impact after the end of the activity, starting from the results, which will concern:
1) Increased level of key competences in young people expressed through:
- recognition tools
- 75% of participants working or studying after 6 months from the end of the EVS
2) Increased competences of youth workers
- 0% drop-out rate among the participants
- New project proposals on learning mobility
- Enhanced knowledge of the recognition processes
