TERMINÉ
The students we want to participate in this European mobility project belong to the second year of Basic FP (Basic Vocational Training). They are preparing to get a degree of professional qualification level 1 (under 18), according to the European framework of professional qualifications. This means training in workplaces for about 160 hours, so the stay in the foreign training center will be 4 weeks.
They are students coming from a low social and cultural background, a large number of them didn’t complete the compulsory secondary education and, very often, they have problems in the family, low self-esteem, truancy and behavioral problems, so to give them the opportunity to participate in these programs means to open horizons, a real possibility of re-enlist the education system and improve their personal, social and professional skills.
Only those students that pass to the second year with all their subjects approved and they also pass all the subjects in the first term will be candidates. The number of participants will be three and they will be selected according to their academic performance during the first half of the second year, the good use of the Italian language course and their behavior and overall attitude.
The preparation of the participants will be done by their teachers, and they will train these students with the necessary professional skills, specifically in social, personal and occupational risk prevention skills. The Italian teacher is responsible for basic language training in Italian and Italian culture in the European context.
During the stay abroad the three participants will do their training in workplaces at the headquarters of our host partner, the CNOS-FAP Association in Turin and will be staying in a Salesian residence in Fossano, moving every day to the training center in public transport accompanied by their companion teacher.
The companion teacher will organize and coordinate the entire stay in Italy, having meetings every week with the tutor of students in the training center and he will be the link with our center to report the progress of the project.
The impact we expect to occur with this project:
-To our students, creating an attitude change, improving their academic performance and developing their social and personal skills.
-To the rest of the students at the school, encouraging their participation in mobilities abroad and an increasing the flow of students from the section of the ESO to the Basic FP (Basic Vocational Training).
-To our school, giving it an added value in educational provision and in the comprehensive training of students and increasing the commitment to European projects by teachers.
The long-term benefit of participating in European mobility projects responds to the goals outlined in the strategic plan of our center to adapt to the changing needs of the professional world, forming active European citizens, committed, creative, with entrepreneurial spirit, capacity adaptation and language skills in more than one language.
We want to be in Europe and being European. Our emphasis is placed on the EU as a political guiding principle of educational development, especially in the field of vocational training.
