Motiváció az angolórán - az angol nyelv szerepe a motivációban
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project titled Motivation in the English Classroom - the Role of the English Language in Motivation is closely related to The European Development Plan of the Eötvös József Secondary School of Fejer County in Hungary. The plan of the project came to life to meet the educational, motivational needs of the teachers and pupils of the school offering vocational and general training at secondary level for young students of Agriculture, Environment and Information technology. The school where it is worth studying – an ideal motto for a secondary school which has strong views on its mission. Its aim is to make its students strive for excellence, self-development, self-awareness, motivation and make them work on their language skills, e.g. through intercultural communication and make them believe in themselves and their alma mater. Everything that makes these students want to learn and enjoy learning, helps the school achieve its objectives. Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, Involve me and I remember The proverbial Benjamin Franklin teaching can be a mission statement that every Hungarian secondary school must be reminded of from time to time. In active learning, everything is possible and achievable: a language class that both teachers and students enjoy, wonderful out-of-class activities, an educational trip to a partner school as an incentive, and cooperation on some kind of a project are all source of motivation and means of further motivation, means to develop a positive attitude to a meaningful life and (even life-long) learning as such. These above-mentioned expected results of the project are all important aspects – and the staff mobility project can help to achieve, realize some or all of these outcomes. The project can be broken up into six main activities of which the first is preparation to a staff mobility activity abroad, the second is the project coordinator English teacher’s participation in a Belfast In-Service Training of the UK-based International Study Programmes course provider from 10 August 2014 to 22 August 2014. Nevertheless, the above-mentioned course is only the focal point, but not the most important point of the project. More importantly, the dissemination procedure after returning to Hungary is even more crucial in the development plans of the secondary school. And as for a more interesting aspect for all, at least as concerns the implementation of the learning outcomes, is if the participant is able to gain personally in her classes from her developed language skills and the methodological „first aid kit” she brought home. If she is able to work better with large language groups, if she works more creatively with mixed groups and difficult learners, motivating her pupils better, then the project already proves itself successful, on the short run. Besides increased inspiration and motivated, quality language classes, lessons, the next outcome should be a series of out-of-class activities designed for English learners: e.g. a Halloween Party and Competition, combined with Workshop, a „Focus on Ireland” New Horizons Culture Bits Class or a St Patricks Day Festival and Competition, all taking place from mid-October to early spring, all targeted to improve language skills of students (and to disseminate results as well), and draw their attention to a wonderful European country. A final expected outcome, on the long run, may be the set-up of a future project team in order to be able to start a new strategic partnership with a European partner. An In-Service Training for European teachers is special in this aspect as well: it may well be the place where the idea of a future Erasmus + cooperation is born, the question is whether the possible partners find the strength to connect and collaborate in the future as well. The Eötvös József Secondary School of Fejér County hopes that this mobility can lead to a future project, and thus, to the increased fame of the school and the increased self-respect, self-esteem of its students; as an international project is not merely about travelling to a partner school, or about practicing and developing language skills but also about improving ourselves in more than these two aspects.
