The project undertakes a series of promotional initiatives, in order to enhance organic agricultural production, including fish production, which is the result of the valley extensive production to be found in the Northern Venetian lagoon and in the whole area admissible to the programme. The Venetian AIAB (Italian Association of Organic Farmers) therefore takes the role of organic farming rural promoter with two major objectives: widening the regional productive basis of organic farming and increasing the public awareness about the consumption of fresh and processed organic products. This initiative aims at connecting the agricultural and tourist operators working in the Adriatic areas of Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia, thus widening trading opportunities for organic products. This project envisages the publication of an informative booklet called Organic pages and the study of a tourist organic itinerary from Venice to Portorož. Morevoer, a web section on the site of the Venetian AIAB promotes the booklet Organic pages and highlights the companies supply of goods and services. Organic products are also promoted in the framework of AIAB organic Sunday. An increase in the number of certified organic farms (EC Regulation n. 2092/91) is expected from this project as well as the setting up of new tourist organic routes, even by enhancing the fish production in the Northern Venetian lagoon. Consumers will thus be informed about the peculiarities of the organic production method.
