The training project “Learning and Teaching“ meets the school‘s strategic goals and priorities and those for the 2015 (increase learning efficiency and attractiveness). The implementation of the project activities is aimed at:
- improvement of the participants‘ English language competences;
- development of the competences of environment use;
- increase the attractiveness of schools by offering teachers innovative activities that should promote mobility in Europe, enhance participants‘ educational and other experience gained in EU countries and adapted to the Kaisiadorys d. Zasliai Basic School in order to better conducting classes and organizing other educational activities.
Mobility activities shall involve 5 teachers. All participants have the adequate Teacher Education and suitable working experience, also long-lasting experience doing school, national and international project activities. Participants have special experience in report, seminar, conference preparation, methodological tools preparation and innovation dissemination. They are able to communicate and collaborate in real and virtual professional environment both in native language and partly in English.
The project includes the activities for competences of communication in English improvement 'English for educators and administrative staff‘. The level B1 or higher in English will be acquired by 3 participants, new international contacts between course participants will be made, the network of cooperating institutions will be expanded, methodical literature, interactive educational websites and training tools in English will be used. Everyday work in classroom will become more enlivened because of the improved teachers linguistic competence; students motivation for learning, their creativity and interaction competence will change for better too. During the development of the environment use competence, 2 teachers will participate in the courses ,,Smile" ir ,,EduGlocal", designed for the development of the educational environment, i.e. use of museum and environment, as well as application of modern technologies outside the classroom. New techniques and methods applying by teachers will help students to better understand educational materials and actualize it.
For 2015, the following activities are designed within the scope of the project: project planning, the maintenance of communication with training institutions, familiarization with course programs, courses in Greece ,,EduGlocal", ,,English for educators and administrative staff" courses in the United Kingdom, ,,Smile" courses in Turkey, dissemination of the project in our school and district media. In 2016, evaluation of the project results will be given, the seminar ,,The Opportunities for the Integration of Foreign and Native Languages" will be organized for the national educational community and, finally, project report preparation and presentation will be made.
For the implementation of the project „Learning and Teaching", the working group of preparation and execution has been set up. It will plan future activities drawing up a schedule, will introduce course topics, objectives, programs, methodologies, etc., will develop the draft of project budget, calculate cost estimation, perform financial transactions and project implementation monitoring.
The greatest impact will be on the participants of the project „Learning and Teaching", they will improve their professional competences, namely skills and abilities using English as a modern foreign language, as well as learning environments creation and application. Participants will improve common, personal and social competencies. This will allow them to realize the preparation and implementation of educational Comenius, eTwinning projects together with partners from Slovakia, Austria, Germany Spain, finding the number of schools in other countries that are willing to cooperate. After the participants return from the course, the school will also have a positive impact: fresh knowledge, new methodologies and educational strategies obtained by the teachers participated in the courses will be applied by them during lessons, they will share experiences with colleagues during open lessons; the acquired knowledge will be imparted through the articles in the press and public reports; other school teachers will be encouraged to participate in such projects and to take interest in international educational activities. Students will feel significant direct effect too, because course participants will apply more diverse approaches in classrooms and environments; this will give greater opportunities for students to exchange ideas and thus the student learning motivation will be promoted. Improved teachers English language skills will help them, along with their students, because teachers will be able to provide more interesting and more modern educational materials.
