Modernisation of higher education in the area of food quality and safety in Tajikistan

The overall objective - to support modernization of higher education in the area of food quality and safety in Tajikistan. Specific objectives: 1. To promote the reform and modernization of higher education in Tajikistan in the area of food quality and safety. 2. To enhance the quality and relevance of higher education in the area of food quality and safety in Tajikistan. 3. To build up the capacity of higher education institutions in Tajikistan. 4. To enhance networking among higher education institutions across Tajikistan and EU Member States. Partners involved: Lead partner - Latvia University of Agriculture; P2 Tajik Agrarian University; P3 Avicenna Tajik State Medical University; P4 Technological University of Tajikistan; P5 Slovak University of Agriculture; P6 Lithuanian University of Health Sciences; P7 Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan. WPs and main outputs: WP1 Development of the master study programme "Food Quality and Safety": 1) the Master study programme (MSP) and study materials, 3) license of the programme. WP2 Elaboration and introduction of the Master study programme quality assessment and assurance plan: 1) MSP quality assessment and assurance plan, 2) MSP assessment report. WP3 Dissemination and promotion of the MSP and the project among stakeholders: 1) 500 audio visual materials disseminated to stakeholders, 2) 34 publicity measures, 3) at least 200 000 stakeholders addressed. WP4 Increase of capacity of higher education institutions: 1) 12 persons - universities teaching staff trained, 2) 70 units of equipment acquired for teachers and for study process, 3) 3 study visits, 7 days each held, 12 teachers participated. WP5 Pilot training of students: 1) 15 students matriculated, 2) 3 study semesters/1200 hours of studies provided, 3) 15 students had 14 days mobility in Latvia. WP6 Management and coordination. Total eligible costs - EUR 667285,17. TEMPUS grant - EUR 600556,65.
