Model European Union Creta 2014
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 31 janv. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Model European Union (MEU) Creta 2014 was a simulation of EU decision-making and politics, taking place in Heraklion, Crete, which carries significant symbolism, as it is said to have been the abode of Europa, whose name is now used to identify our Union, the European Union. The project belongs to a larger family of local MEUs stemming from MEU Strasbourg, organized by Bringing European Together Association (BETA). The concept of MEU in general is completely original in the world of simulations and already extremely popular among young Europeans from diverse backgrounds and studies spanning from Law, International Relations, Political Sciences and European Affairs to History, Media Studies, and Interpreting. MEU Creta 2014 was a unique learning process that focused on the workings and dynamics of EU institutions when producing EU law. Therefore MEU Creta 2014 was primarily an educational project that not only promoted European integration but also gave the participants the opportunity to develop skills in law-making, debating and negotiating at an EU level. In addition, the vision of MEU Creta 2014 was to also bring the local community closer to EU politics and make Europeans familiar with our rich culture. MEU Creta 2014 took place in autumn and lasted for five full days in Heraklion (22-26 October), the capital of Crete. MEU Creta 2014 brought together 101 participants from around Europe, 45 of them originating from Greece, and gave them the chance to experience the real life of an EU policy-maker. Beyond the simulation itself, MEU Creta 2014 offered the ultimate experience of socializing and networking at the European level.
