Project Mobilizing to Empower (MOB+ CAP+)The MOB CAP is a project presented by Instituto de Nossa Senhora de Fátima, to which Colégio de Nossa Senhora da Graça belongs. This school has a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Education and enjoys teaching and organizational autonomy.This is a project that results from the continuing effort of the Pedagogical Direction in improving the the organizational and the pedagogical processes, the importance of employees and teachers training, valuing vocational education and participation in Europe-wide projects, which are a recognized added value for their students.Despite this is the first time the school applies for the Erasmus + program, our project seeks to achieve high levels of quality at all times of its process, from the design, to the development and evaluation.This project has the following overall objectives:• To affirm the European dimension of school;• Reduce the students’ dropout and truancy;• Affirm the quality of vocational courses within the school, the educational community and the region;• Improve the level of knowledge of foreign languages;• Develop innovative pedagogies and content ICT-based;• To promote collaborative work and online based network platforms, such as the eTwinning.• Improve teaching and school management methods in an intercultural context;• Enhance the tourism potential of the region.The specific objectives are:• Train teachers, other staff and students for an increasingly global labor market;• Reduce the dropout in vocational courses.To this end, two mobility activities are proposed, a jobshadowing for staff (5 participants) and an internship for vocational courses’ students (5 students and 2 accompanying).These mobilities will be held in Levi, Finland, and there’s a partner already for this purpose, the Rovaniemi Municipal Federation of Education - Lapland Tourism College.The fact that this partner have experience in Erasmus +, either as a coordinating entity, either as a partner entity, gives us confidence about the success of this project.The Lapland Tourist College, school that will welcome our staff mobility, also offers vocacional tourism courses, which proves to be ideal for carrying out activities within jobshadowing mobility. In addition to this, Finland is a country of reference at European level with regard to education.The students’ internship will take place in existing hotels in Levi. These will be selected by the partner entity, under our supervision.The team responsible for this project and our partner organization will take care of all organizational and logistical aspects of the mobility.The MOB + CAP + aims to be a project with impacts at various levels.Impacts on the organization:• improvement of teaching and learning that will be reflected in improved academic success of students;• adequacy of good educational practices in the organizational context;• establishing new partnerships with schools and European institutions;• improving school projection at local, national and international level;• ensure the opening of new classes of vocational education.Impacts in the participating teachers and staff:• integrating new teaching practices in planning classes (teachers);• continuous improvement associated with media and technological tools;• development of language skills in the Finnish language and improvement of the English language;• improve working methods in an intercultural context.Impacts on students:• deepening of knowledge about Finland, its institutions, culture and the labor market;• development of language skills in the Finnish language and improvement of the English language;• acknowledge different methods and work techniques related to tourism;• improving social skills and competences;• developing professional skills with a view to their integration into the European labor market.It’s also worth mentioning that our partner in this project will also submit an application to Erasmus+ in which our school will be their partner organization.As a way of conclusion it can be said that the accomplishment of this project will be a turning point in how the school will address to Europe, building new partnerships, increasing the perception of the existing cultural and linguistic diversity, understanding the organization of their institutions and recognizing the potential of the European labor market.
