Mobility Makes us Professional
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

We will be sending 40 students and 10 teachers abroad for this mobility coming from different vocational departments of the school, art and craft, beauty, carpenters and electricians. FB wants to provide a competitive vocational education for working life and further studies. We work in good cooperation with employers and the labor market. In Iceland we do not always have placements for all our vocational students. International mobility is one of the most important ways of acquiring new competence, knowledge and skills. Learning mobility will give both our students and staff the possibility to widen their horizons and make them stronger in their profession by learning both new skills and practice old ones and get new experience by seeing how things are done in other countries. We are committed to provide our students with the necessary competence needed to be able to work in an international environment. We want to increase the quantity and the quality of our international mobilities both for students and staff and will acknowledge to the fullest their work and study abroad. We want to increase transparency and the quality in training between institutions and our partners by using ECVET tools as much as possible. We will emphasize quality of preparation, effective monitoring during the stay and dissemination and evaluation after the stay. We believe this project will enrich both our students and staff and increase their self esteem and language skills and at the same time they get to know other countries an learn about their cultures. All our vocational students will stay for one month. Our goal is to transfer knowledge and increase the abilities and competence of our staff who play an important role in the vocational education in Iceland. By international mobility they will strengthen their cooperation and network between schools and employers in Europe. We are the largest community college in Iceland with the most diverse students population of the country, in terms of ethnicity, economical background and age. We consider it an important opportunity for our students to be able to participate in international projects. Not only do we believe that the project will enhance our staff professional skills but also contribute to their personal development. This project provides FB with the opportunity to share the expertise and partners will increase the quality of our work together as we now know each other much better now. Our new partner is a vocational school in Finland and we are happy to add this school to our project a school with great experience in mobility and EU projects.
