The project proposal is based on long-term experience of representatives of both partner organizations with the implementation of educational and cultural activities for the target group of Roma youth. Mobility Erasmus+ appears to be an appropriate tool for an intensive cooperation between these two partner organizations. The proposed project will include implementation of a two-week mobility Romano Drom, of which the participants will include representatives of the target group of Roma youth from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The project has two main goals: 1) to increase the awareness of participants of Roma culture and, following, to build their own ethnic identity, 2) to increase personal skills of participants in the arts, particularly in music and dance. The project activities have been prepared in connection with the uppper-mentioned objectives: 1) Activities: lectures on Roma history and culture, visiting the municipal offices and finding information in the chronicles, visiting families in Roma settlements and their participation on mobility programme, visitting museum in Prešov, learning Romani language and workshops where the participants will prepare traditional Roma meals 2) Activities: music and dance workshops, performances within the project outputs The project will involve 40 representatives of the target group of Roma youth (17 from the Czech Republic and 23 from Slovakia) aged 13 to 30, under the leadership of 10 representatives of partner organizations (5 from the Czech Republic and 5 from Slovakia). The project will have three specific outcomes linked to the activities: - publication, created by the participants of the mobility, with the topic of Roma life during the 20th century in Roma settlements in Slovakia; - exhibition on the same topic, on which also audio-visual recordings will be presented; - series of joint concerts (including dance performances) of mobility participants and the Czech Philharmonic. We consider the awareness of the participants' own ethnic identities in the context of other European nations and also helping people from Roma and non-Roma population to know each other to be the long-term benefit of the project. It will also lead to reduction of prejudices on both sides.
