The Schiller Gymnasium consists of 800 pupils, among them student of different nationalities and regular overseas stay for one or two years. We take part in pupils` projects with schools from Poland, France, Russia and Mozambique.About 20 years ago we started an exchange program with schools from Poland, for example we organize environmental projects. In the schoolterm 2015/2016 another exchange with Mozambique will take place, dealing especially with cultural and scientific aspects.At our school we are going to start bilingual lessons as a regular feature of education. Giving pupils opportunities in international business and stimulating them to communicate in English is the big aim. The project will be accompanied by four teachers at the beginning. Two collegues are teaching English and Russian. While taking part in a further education they will be qualified in working with new media. Thereover the other two collegues are teaching English and other subjects will be qualified especially in teaching their subjects in English.The bilingual lessons which take place at our school for one week will be the base for provement for further teaching this way.The participants of this further education program will work as multiplier at our school. Furthermore the project should widen the pupils intercultural and social competence. In addition to that the pupils of our science oriented school should be qualified to act on international level.
