L' Escola d' Hoteleria i Lleida Tourism is a vocational training school where training courses from the hospitality and tourism and catering branches are given.
The project is aimed at our middle grade students who can do internships in companies in the sector in Italy, which has a renowned hotel and pastry industry. .
The objectives of this project are:
- Encourage awareness of European reality
- Understand and become familiar with the reality of another country.
- In the educational and professional field, to know other ways of working .
- Promote the exchange of experiences of our students with professional firms which offer placements.
- Encourage students cooperation and responsibility in individual and group work .
- Encourage active participation in the learning dynamics .
- Encourage lifelong learning as a basic tool for entering into the productive world.
- Encourage the effort to overcome and correct their own shortcomings and mistakes.
- To promote interest in controlling learning.
- Encourage an open and curious attitude towards other technical work .
- Promoting tolerance and respect for other cultures and personalities, so as to maximize their own identity.
- Facilitate the development of a foreign language through daily practice encouraging its use, and encourage in students an attitude of disinhibition in front of the interactive communication, in order to gain autonomy in learning.
- Improve relationships and communication capability using a foreign language.
- Know the customs, habits and cultural aspects highlighted , emphasizing :
• Knowledge of other cultural events.
• Rhythm and lifestyle in other countries. Daily aspects of life: schedules, meals , entertainment , transportation ...
• Goods from artistic and cultural heritage of the country where the internship is made.
• Meal habits .
- Facilitate the overall knowledge of the organization and current practices in the hospitality industry in a country of recognized tourist tradition.
- Practice customers welcome and assistance .
- Acquire and practice culinary and pastry techniques
- Improved interaction and teamwork.
The practices will be recognized in the academic curriculum of the students besides being able to be included as part of their work experience for the purpose of employability.
It is thought that the project will have an impact at the local , provincial and national levels in the sector, through the contributions of participating students .
Finally, this project will also have international impact , by showing the professional skills of our students
Thus, the placement and teaching observation project tries to get to know new techniques, usages and products with the intention of incorporating them to the curriculum offered in the School. The final goal would be to arise in the students as well as in the local business network an outstanding impact.
