Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych w Żabnie (the applicant organization) prepared a project from the Erasmus plus program as a part of an action- the learning mobility, involving its students and staff. The project was entitled: ‘The young and enterprising - we are Europeans’. As a partner institution the school chose Bildungsberatung & Schülervermittlungsagentur in Austria, which cooperates with educational institutions and companies from various lines of business in Austria. 20 students from the Technical Secondary School of Nutrition and Catering Services ( training in gastronomy profession) will join the project. The Group will go on a monthly training in hotels and restaurants in the region of Carinthia in Austria. The training of the staff will last one week. Three vocational teachers will observe the work of the Austrian teachers as a part of the action-Job Shadowing. The project is intended to support participants in acquiring the knowledge, skills and qualifications.The aim is personal development and increasing the chances for future employment in the local or European labor market. The project will help equalize educational disparities of the youth derived from rural areas, poor families, families affected by unemployment, families which do not attach importance to the educational attainment and cannot make creative and enterprising activities. Students practice in EU companies and staff training will be a good job experience and give the school education international dimension . Professional experience will be held in facilities offering a diverse range of manufacturing and catering services. That is why, the students will learn about the whole process of production and services of catering establishment by performing work in different departments and at different positions. The aim of the staff mobility is looking for new solutions, practices and teaching methods used by European teachers, which can be applied in our educational system. Getting to know the principles of practical training in Austria will be a source of knowledge and inspiration for teachers in times of the changing needs of professional education in Poland. The teachers will see the functioning of the classrooms, equipment, organization and conduct of work, the use of information technology and e-learning platform. Actions taken in the project will influence the participants, the institution and the educational system for a long time . Initiative and entrepreneurship will be awakened. They may lead future graduates to setting their own businesses. Self-esteem will increase and a belief that there are no career prospects will disappear. Students will acquire a habit of permanent learning and improving their skills what will prevent early finishing school education. Practices will affect the expansion of professional skills of students, which will be reflected in the results of professional examinations. Local employers will be interested in hiring skilled workers who acquire European certificates. Students will have the opportunity to test the skills acquired in school to share knowledge with their peers and to exchange professional experience. The contact with Europeans and other cultures will let them appreciate the traditions and European values and awaken intercultural awareness. The need to improve language learning and making further educational mobility will reinforce. Teaching staff will establish international contacts and raise awareness of the benefits of mobility projects which will affect motivation of other employees. Innovations will increase the effectiveness of school teaching, especially in the education of practical profession. The competence of employees will increase. The creative use of information technology in the educational process will increase. In order to disseminate the participation of the school in European projects and to emphasize the support of the European Union, we will put current information about the progress of the project on the school website and facebook, organize information meetings for parents and students and post some articles about the project in the local press (Żabnieńska newspaper), make multimedia presentations, which will be disseminated during school events and presentations of our school in the region. Besides we will organize exhibitions of photos and posters for residents and visitors at school and the Cultural Center Żabno. We will carry out the distribution of leaflets with information about the project. We will arrange Austrian cuisine day with a presentation of typical dishes and drinks from Carinthia and many others. Our school influenced by Erasmus plus will take on an international dimension, raising its rank in the educational life of our town and region. This will enhance the prestige of the school, the competitiveness and attractiveness of the educational offer and lead to an increase in recruitment in subsequent school years.
