Mixing cultures
Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 janv. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project’s theme was intercultural learning with a unique method. During the program, participants were not presenting their own country, but they prepared to present another participating nation. With the help of non-formal learning methods young people got closer to accept and learn about other countries’ cultures. As part of the learning process, participants developed their European identity and they realized that even though we are from different cultures, we are similar after all. This fact mostly came out during the cooking workshops, because despite the fact that the traditional cuisine is different in every country, their connection points showed up. The participating countries had several occasions to present another nation’s traditional dance, folk song, food, art work, monument, and important historical event. During the youth exchange they created plays based on the chosen historical event and they organized an exhibition for their own art works. They presented the dances they learned and the plays they created when they visited a local school. The project was organized at Hubertus Hotel in Ada, Serbia. During the 10 days of the youth exchange young people (5 youngsters and a group leader from each country) from 6 countries (Hungary, Serbia, Greece, Italy, Spain and Latvia) shared each other’s cultural features with this innovative method.
