The MITS-MECHATRONICA project aims at bridging an identified knowledge gap in the field of mechatronics through the development of modular web-based courses. The target groups for the project include students, teachers & training professionals and managers/owners of SMEs. The developed web-based courses will cover topics such as mechatronics, programming of numerically-controlled machines and the use of production planning software (CAPP). The project will further result in the presentation of a didactical framework, namely the Modular Interactive Training System (MITS) which will enable the development of future training courses on other topics for the same target groups. Beyond the developed courses and the training system, a series of guidelines will also be developed by the project, with eventual products being made available in all partner languages. Dissemination activities will include the establishment of a user database, the release of articles to relevant press and journals, the publication of a multi-language project leaflet and the hosting of a final transnational press conference.
