Shortly after the former colonies of Europe were given independence after the WWII - a dynamicdebate started throughout Europe regarding the development of the newly independent countriesand how they'd cope with this new power. Now, 60 years later we travel back to two of thesecountries, who at first glance may seem to be very different but have more in common than you might expect. The two countries are Iceland, former colony of Denmark, and Uganda, former colony of Great Britain. These two countries couldn't be far more divided. Iceland in the north, known for its harsh wintersand 5 hours of daylight and then Uganda, sunny and south of Europe. To these two fishery nations, economy growth has grown in the opposite direction, health care and political structure as well. In this project we'll follow the young generation of each country, who never experienced thecolonization and see how "newly" government affects their lives throughout their daily activities. The aim of the project is to make a documentary that will show these two poles and how young people deal with different circumstances in the north and the south. The project aims to shed new light to the history of European colonization in a direct and fresh way. It aims to raise questions about young Europeans and their life in the world as whole.
