MINIMOB
Date du début: 26 sept. 2010,

Minimob proposes to get onto mobility and urban realities of today's Europe by focusing on new creation and broadcasting instruments: mobile and wireless technologies. From the automn 2010 to the winter 2011, the urban realities of Prague, Timisoara, Warsaw, Barcelona and Paris will be explored.Five artistic residencies will be implemented in five European cities. Multidisciplinary artists will cross their looks on urban areas by creating short-films with mobile phones. This mass object will escape the commercial logic and become a means of creation. The films reveal social and spatial specificities of areas selected by each partner: Panspermia, Dedale, CIANT, Makata and the CCF of Timisoara. They will constitute the Minimob European city film collection.Minimob encourages European citizenship to emerge thanks to new urban uses. Workshops aiming at increasing people's awareness of mobile phones' creative and democratic potential will be organised. A European competition will be launched as well as a local one where everyone will be invited to appropriate this medium and to propose a personal definition of one's living environment. These personal readings of European space will give rise to a sensitive and plural definition of European space.International workshops will take place in Paris, Prague, Barcelona and Novi Sad. They will gather artists who work on mobility or use mobile technologies in their work. Two international conferences will enrich the reflection and increase people awareness on both downsides and positive aspects of new technologies. While bringing a reflection on urban changes and new uses, Minimob encourages mobility through Europe and intiate the creation of a network. The produced films will be broadly disseminated on the Internet and screened in each partners' venue. They will also be disseminated in the frame of pocket film and mobile art festivals. A documentary on the project will be edited and sent to European various resource centers.
