The main aims of the project is to deepen international dimension of education, close connection of education and vocational training within European Union, to support mobility of young people, to improve the key competences of participants including their language competences. A new European tool ECVET will be used with the aim to make formal education of paramedics and pharmacy assistants within formal education more transparent. The main intention of the project MILLS College International is to realize practical internships of MILLS College students in study branches specialized in medicine i. e. qualified paramedic and qualified pharmacy assistant in the daily study programme. The specific aims of the project are following: improvement of key competences of participants with the priority to their professional and language competences, to support mobility of students, sustain cooperation with certified organizations, and create partnerships with new ones. Finally, the project’s intention is to promote attractiveness of MILLS College students in their employability within EU. Students who notably enhanced their key competences including language and professional competences, gained practical experience, increased their self confidence and attractiveness in the labour market belong to the main and expected outputs of the project. This project is focused on students specializing in urgent medicine and pharmacy. Acquisition of language competences as a tool of further international cooperation and maintaining sustainability has been paramount for this project. The partial aim will be creation of the professional portfolio of individual practical internship’s participant containing CD / DVD with the results of the practical internship: 1) practical internship report; 2) description of gained knowledge, practical skills, new experience and methods and their comparison with the reality at Czech workplace; 3) good practice examples 4) creating collection of photos from the workplace, used equipment, devices and tools; 5) publishing professional article in the mass media; 6) creating the manual for new participants with the set of recommendations and proposals containing the vocabulary of the most commonly used professional terms. Thus, MILLS College intends to implementing project sustainability. Project MILLS College International is based on mutual cooperation MILLS College with five partnership organizations. The project team gave careful consideration to the choice of workplaces including the scope of work of individual participants. It came out of the conception of practical internship in the Czech Republic and participants’ profile. Practical training will be 2 weeks long (10 working days). The project is focused on 10 participants – 7 paramedics and 3 pharmacy assistants. It will be realized in 2 courses – 1st course in the period 11. 10. 2014 – 25. 10. 2014 in Greece, 2nd course in the period 16. 5. – 30. 5. 2015 in Portugal. During 1st course of the project MILLS College as sending organization will cooperate with one intermediary organization ECTE and two host organizations: General hospital in Rethymno in Rethymno and Community pharmacy in Rethymno (Greece). During 2nd course of the project MILLS College as sending organization will cooperate with one intermediary organization EPD and one host organization – ambulance station in Alcochete (in Portugal). In case of two partner workplaces from six MILLS College will cooperate for the first time. The length of the project is 12 months. The project team carefully planned preparation period of the project, practical training realization including mentoring and monitoring of participants, as well as project validation and dissemination. The project outputs will be published both within College MILLS and towards the general public at regional, national and international level. MILLS College attempts to use the new European tool ECVET with the aim to validate this project.
