MILLER PATH

The project´s objective was to improve the cross-border area (SI-CRO) tourist infrastructure, to increase the flow of tourism between the two countries and to establish a joint regional identity. In addition, one of the project´s objectives was also revitalisation of traditional professions and crafts for tourism purposes, as well as revitalisation of cultural, technical and natural heritage including the national tradition. Achievements: Setting up the thematic Miller Path and arrangement of tourist points helped to improve the cross-border tourist zone infrastructure. The project contributed to reviving traditional crafts and professions. A common identity system was established. The project made a considerable contribution to enhancing the quality of the tourist offer and to reviving the tourist zone itself, which in the long run is expected to improve the rural area´s economic and social structure (new jobs, complementary activities). Under this project, the study Developing Tourist Products and Miller Path Trademarks was completed. Due to this project, the tourist infrastructure of the cross-border region experienced a significant change in the usage of renewable energy resources, primarily due to the electrification of a floating river mill and installation of a solar collector.
