Migration vs. Integration

The "Migration and. Integration" is a combined KA1 Mobility project for young people and youth workers, consisting of training for youth workers and youth exchanges with partner countries, which will last a total of seven months from 01/05/2016 to 30/11/2016. Both activities will be carried out in Rogoznica (Croatia, Sibenik-Knin County) in the period:1. Training for youth workers - from 11th to 17th July 2016 (39 participants, of which 3 trainers)2. Youth exchange - from 22nd to 29th August 2016 (60 participants, including 12 youth leaders)Partner organisations in the project are: Croatian Red Cross - City Branch Zupanja (Croatia), PRONI Centar for youth development Brcko (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Narodno Chitalishte “Nikola Vasilev Rakitin 1890” (Bulgaria), Argonaftes (Cyprus), Associazione Giovaninsieme (Italy), Ligo Lex Legis (Kosovo), Foundation for the Youth of Balatonalmádi (Hungary), Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. (Germany), Asociatia Tinerilor Activi Civic (Romania), SYTEV – Slovak Youth for Travelling, Education and Volunteering (Slovakia), Red Cross Sombor (Serbia) and Altinozu Halk Egitim Merkezi (Turkey).The project addresses the topic of EU citizenship and the fundamental values of the EU, ie respect for diversity, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, freedom, tolerance and human rights, focusing on seeking solutions for integration of refugees and migrants in EU society.The main objective of this project is to inform and raise awareness among young people and youth workers about the needs of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to encourage their integration into European society.The specific objectives of the project "Migration vs.Integration" are:1. Enhance the level of key competencies and skills of young people, including young people with fewer opportunities, and youth workers for a better understanding of refugees and migrants2. Raise the level of knowledge of young people and youth workers about the needs of of refugees and migrants and differentiate types of migrants3. Reduce xenophobia among young people and youth workers4. Raising awareness of EU values and awareness of belonging to the EU citizenship among young people and youth workers5. Develop critical thinking in young6. Contribute to combating discrimination of refugees and migrants7. Improve the quality of work with young people, particularly young people with fewer opportunities, and develop cooperation among organizations working with young people at the international level.During the training for youth workers and exchange a variety of non-formal and informal methods of working with young people will be used, and some of them are: discussions, presentations, role-plays, "icebreakers", energizers, sports outdoor activity, exercise, sports competitions, design techniques, workshops on a particular theme, artistic expression, outdoor games, small group work, work in pairs, teamwork, interactive exercises, structured exercises and simulations, games for getting to know and creating trust, feedback, process evaluation etc.Desired impact of the project on the participants is:- enhanced level of key competencies and skills of young people, including young people with fewer opportunities, and youth workers for a better understanding of refugees and migrants;- increased level of knowledge of young people and youth workers about the needs of refugees and migrants and the ability to distinguish types of migrants;- reduced xenophobia among young people and youth workers;- raised awareness of EU values and forstered commitment to EU citizenship among young people and youth workers;- initiated development of critical thinking among young people;- triggered intercultural learning among project participants;Long term, the project "Migration vs. Integration" will have an impact on the empowerment of EU citizenship and integration of refugees and migrants in EU society.
