The main goal of our Project is based on the concept that Clil methodology is the best,dynamic and effective tool for students
´learning. There are several reasons that support my previous statement.
Firstly,the activities and learning dynamics implied in this Clil methodology focus on students´learning processes .The teacher is no
longer an instructor,but a member of the Group ready to help students in their different learning styles.
Secondly,Contents are presented in a very attractive way,not only for students but also for teachers.
And finally,linguistic competentes are unsconsciuosly acquired : fluency, extensive reading, verb tenses and specific
vocabulary ,which they are still no familiar with..
The second main goal is the Interdisciplinary Integrated Curriculum.In this case, we have focused our attention in the Mediterranean
culture: Nature,Geography and History.
We have started studying its origin through all the different places it spread , from prehistory to our days;that´s why,we start with
the unit of work : "Mediterranean Landscape: Malta and Andalucía. Nature, Geography and a Melting pot of Cultures". This unit has been implemented in 1st and 3rd of ESO,and also has been the basis for evaluating our Project.
We have implemented the teacher training in the areas of Biology , Social Science and History,both fields are
involved in the development of this unit of work.This training has coovered three different aspects: second language
improvement,training in Clil methodology and knowledge and experience on Malta,the cradle of the Mediterranean culture.All the
courses that have been chosen deal with this field of work.
The final product has been an e-book which gather the materials and methodological experiences in the courses and it has been
published on the school web page, and in the dissemination Platform of the EU. We want our experience to be shared by all school community members and all over our region. It is the main goal of CLIL Methodology.
Regarding our school, we think these activities and final products will change classroom dynamics and increase teachers and
students´motivation.We think it will help students enjoy their learning and prevent absenteeism. In fact, we are implementing this knowledg in our new Erasmus+ Project A. KA219, a Multilateral Asociation about Conflicts and teaching about Peace through the CLIL units work. And also our teachers are implementing their knowledg in daily classes.
The area where our school is located will also benefit from this Project as we will provide families with higher quality in their children
education. Also the results will be shared with the Teachers' Training School when the NA aprobes them.
